Cutting up music videos I like

I’ve had a strong interest in music videos the past few years. I see them as an excuse to make unique visuals and editing choices as opposed to narrative filmmaking. I created a small playlist with videos that I thought were cool, and have continuously added to it, currently over 100 videos.
When I was trying to think of ways to push my art to a more mainstream, pop culture appeal, the idea of collaging a music video came to be. I pick a video from the playlist, and sort through it, sometimes frame by frame, to find the right still to include. I actively consider the artists’ personalities, tone of the video, and general vibe of the actual video when creating these.
I like how these pieces end up being a sort of mood board/summary of the video, and opens the door for me to have fun experimenting with detail and including different segments of a video. I feel like the motion included in the pieces makes them good still-image representations of the video.
This is the playlist that I began back in early 2020, linked on the image. I watch music videos like tv. The playlist was created to have cool visuals I could have in the background while I worked on art. Most times, I would have the sound off, so I was able to strictly appreciate the imagery.

This is an ongoing series that I don’t put a cap on, meaning I will continuously make these pieces. As I’ve made the ones I have, there are always videos I want to collage, but have no idea how to. These are coincidentally some of my favorite music videos of them all. The three above are videos I have wanted to collage for a while, but. haven’t. I’m including these to represent some of the challenges and my goals regarding this series.
